Intro: This well-plated dish unfortunately turned out to be a disappointment. The olive oil drizzle was extremely garlicky, overpowering any other flavor in the dish. While the parmesan shaves were perfect in shape and volume, they really didn’t have any flavor. They were either shaved earlier and sitting to dry out, or the flavor was undiscernible because of the garlic drizzle.
While you don’t typically see micro greens on this dish, they were fresh, crisp and tasty. I didn’t eat many of them though, unlike the more typical arugula garnish which always gets finished. The mouthfeel just doesn’t mesh well in this dish, and should be replaced with arugula.
Presentation: Very nice plating, visually appealing. Consideration was definitely given and well-executed on the presentation.
Temperature: The temperature was perfect, just below room temperature, with no obvious cooking or warming up to blemish the meat.
Size: Definitely on the small side, barely sharable and not a good value for the cost.
Overall Score: 3/10, would not order again.
Reasoning: Unfortunately this dish just has too many things wrong with it. Capers bring salt, missing. Arugula brings pepper, missing. Lemon allows you to cut through oil and bring a bright flavor where it’s missing. Onions add complexity and variety if added sparingly. And somehow, even though you can see the meat itself looks like an excellent cut, even after adding salt and pepper it was essentially flavorless aside from the taste of the oil treatment. This restaurant does plenty of things well, and with some adjustments this can be a good dish. But unless changes are made I would not get it again nor recommend it.
